Very “V”unny Vowels

At our Peace through Language Club meeting on Friday, we learned a silly song that practices the English vowels in an interesting way. I learned this song at summer camp many, many moons ago…and it has stuck with me through the decades. It was interesting to find out that about half of the club members at the meeting knew it. Perhaps you’ve sung it before? Does this picture give you a hint?

I like to eat (repeat)

I like to eat, eat apples and bananas (repeat: apples and bananas)

I like to eat (repeat)

I like to eat, eat apples and bananas (repeat: apples and bananas)

Here’s the SchoolTube link to our first try with this silly song. Here is the download link to the file.

There’s a similar type of song in Spanish:

Now I’m wondering if there’s other songs like these, especially in French! Do you know any? Please share!

We also made this English vowels rap. Here is the download link.

Last year we made this English alphabet video that ends with a song to use for the vowels. We actually use that same vowel song in French and Spanish as well.

We hope someone can find these resources useful! 🙂

Peace!
